Highway Patrol: 2, Carissa: 0

Twice. In the span of 6 months!!!  Ok, the first time was fair, it was right after New Year's so I was a bit sleepy on the road (I do NOT recommend driving at any state of sleepiness). But c'mon! The po could have at least just given me a warning.
Guess what the fine is for strike 2.
Guess.
$275.
FML.

Alright, thats it. Grandma-style driving it is.

DIY: For all the Harry Potter fans...

NOTE: (According to Urban Dictionary)
Pott Head
n. someone who is obsessed with anything related to Harry Potter
Student 1: Have you seen that weird girl walking around school with her Harry Potter backpack and lunchbox?
Student 2: Yeah, that girl is a total potthead.

Yes, I admit I am a huge Harry Potter fan. When I stumbled across this t-shirt on Etsy the other day, I had to have one. So I thought, why not try to make one myself?

With a bit of fabric paint, a second-hand shirt, wax paper, and (dare I say) my own artistic ability, I had my own Harry Potter Pott Head shirt!

Check out the source of this genius idea:

Wise words from the Amazing Spider (dash) Man

"I'm very neurotic and self-conscious. So I think that I'll know when I'm becoming a dick and believing my own press."
-Andrew Garfield

He is a beautiful soul.
Sorry Toby, but you know what they say: 3 strikes and you're out - and you, sir, used up all 3.
p.s. Was there always a dash in Spider-man's name?

Things I'm Into: Summer!

1. Bikram Yoga (a.k.a Hot Yoga)

Just ended my last day of my free 2-week trial and loved it!
Sadly, I'm too poor to get a real membership so instead I'm going to snag all the new student deals at various yoga places.

2. Draw Something

I have finally caught up with the times and now own a smart phone!
Apparently this app was sooooo last month because everyone's over it by now, while I'm just discovering it's drawsome-ness.

3. Apps

THERE'S AN APP FOR EVERYTHING!

4. Crossword Puzzles

My ultimate goal is to become a crossword master.
Then I can impress people with my vast knowledge of useless trivia.

5. Craftgawker.com

Crafting is resourceful and fun!

6. Workaholics

Stay fresh.

7. "Blue" Web Series (via YouTube)

Sex, drama, and Julia Stiles. What more could you ask for? Not to mention episodes are only 10 min long, so it doesn't drag on and on.

Nothing like a fresh cup of YOGA in the morning

Since I apparently cannot get myself to do ANYTHING when I get home from work (except nap and watch hours of Justice League Unlimited), I decided to wake early and do yoga before work instead.

Success! Felt energized and great for the rest of the day!

On a side note, FYI khaki pants are not only unattractive but also very difficult to find. Why they remain popular in the business world is a mystery to me.

Goodbye blue, Hello pink and purple

End of the school year = the start of something new! (ignore the High School Musical line...that was not intended).

And judging by the amount of free time I have, its safe to say summer's here!

And just when I thought i'd be a good student...

Went to the library (at the expense of a Saturday night *sigh* - first world problems, am I right?) armed with a Monster and ready to go hard in the paint with the studying only to find that the library closes at midnight.

Um what.

Maybe this a sign that I shouldn't study tonight...I accept!

I see us on a beach down in Mexico

Oh B.O.B., how did you describe my Spring Break so perfectly?

Four days of no cell phones, no Netflix or Facebook distractions,
and no constantly needing to check the time or my calendar.
Just us girls, the  beach and the sun, and 4 days of spontaneous adventures (assisted of course by margaritas and pina coladas).

I officially love Mexico, tortillas, and especially, the beach.
I love the feel of the tiny grains of sand under my feet.
I could stand on the water with my eyes closed, feeling the breeze all day.

That's the nice thing about the beach. No matter how the weather is, or how many people are in the water, the waves will always move back and forth, toward and away from the shore. It makes you just not care about worrying about the little things anymore. What does it matter if your wearing makeup or if you showered this morning? It doesn't.

Well now I'm back to real life which is, needless to say, not quite as enjoyable. Its been like 2 or 3 weeks and im STILL on SB mode (which is probably not good considering I have 2 midterms next week...).

But hey, there's always Spring Break 2013 right?

OH and I just remembered I also get to cross #4 off my Bucketlist AWEYEA!

Living YOUR life

I had an epiphany today:
if you're unhappy with something, change it.

Sounds pretty simple.

But often times, people always try to pick the one with the most practical outcome.
Sometimes that's a good thing, but that also means choosing an option over what you REALLY want.

Of course, it is important to think ahead and consider the future,
but that shouldn't guide your decisions.
Life is always changing and there is no way to predict what the future will bring.

Don't be afraid of failure.
Take risks and learn from mistakes.
Do things for yourself because in the end,
it's YOUR life,
so don't waste your time worrying about how others will judge you
(who has time for that shit anyway?)

Project WTF

"Project X": a new documentary about the party of the century... and essentially a movie with no plot. I see 2 problems with this:

1.  Project X reflects the gradual deterioration of society's intelligence.

2. Why pay money to sit and watch a party happen on a screen? That's like watching your neighbor throw the party of the year while you sit in your room watching it all go down through your window.
